The installation used kinetic light, animation and VFX to explore the concept of blending by visualising how the overlapping of time and space can push the limits of perception. The accompanying film, directed by Agile’s very own Emile Raphael, captures the installation in action as its revolving crimson laser beams metamorphosize into a static tunnel of colour —resulting in an awe-inspiring light show.
Our film captured the essence of the installation by blending highly stylised lighting with abstract macro shots.
United Visual Artists (UVA) is a London-based art practice that integrates new technologies with traditional media to create engaging, site-specific installations. “When light and sound unfolds at great speed, a state of continual flux can appear as a continuum. It immediately crystallised for us that the ageing process resonated with our exploration of motion and light, and of layers in time,” says founder and artist Matthew Clark who was taught the art of cognac-making by Hennessy’s Master Blender, Renaud Fillioux de Gironde.
